BOOMSPEAK WEBSITE LAUNCHED TO PRESENT LIFESTYLE CONTENT BY BABY BOOMERS, FOR BABY BOOMERSDoes the Internet need another website targeted specifically to baby boomers? Since we get to ask the question, we also get to answer it. If it means all the original content is FOR baby boomers and BY baby boomers, the answer is YES. The seed for Boomspeak was planted when it occurred to us that, like Gen X and Y, we deserve our own edgy site where we can share the most positive life styles and opportunities that are now available to our generation. Boomspeak hopes to fill this niche by appealing to the interests and changing priorities of baby boomers, offering a mix of travel, lifestyle, and cultural information, along with personal essays, photography, and fiction. All of the savvy content embraces our motto: “Your whole life’s in front of you.” Boomspeak is about possibilities, and it’s about the vital and energizing things you can do with the rest of your life. In addition to our own writers, Boomspeak is seeking age 50 and over, aspiring writers who want to share their perspectives on essay topics, relate a travel experience, or let us publish their short, short story. We started using computers at work around 1986. Like many baby boomers, that means that we have been tethered to a computer via a mouse cord for half of our adult working lives. Jim Fanzone has been Art Director at DesignConcept for more than 20 years, and along with DesignConcept Creative Director Jay Harrison, they are co-founders of Boomspeak. They spend a lot of time on the Internet in the course of designing websites, researching stock photography, and ministering to their flock of computers that seem to need constant maintenance.
